– There was a big WWE meeting this past weekend in New Orleans in regards to WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view plans. Top officials and members of creative were reportedly putting the 30-man Rumble main event together and working on other plans for the January 24th pay-per-view.
– As of this past Monday, January 11th, none of the New Japan Pro Wrestling talents had signed WWE contracts yet, according to PWInsider. It could be a while before any deals are signed due to medical tests and the other pre-contract steps that have to be taken.
However, there are absolutely talks going on between WWE, AJ Styles and Doc Gallows. As noted, Shinsuke Nakamura is headed to the WWE Performance Center next month, where he will train for a few weeks. He will also take the required medical tests while in the United States. Regarding Karl Anderson, he confirmed on Twitter back in the summer that his NJPW deal expires February 1st.
