– Alicia Fox recently spoke with Jim Varsallone of The Miami Herald to promote the return of WWE Total Divas. The full interview is at this link. Below are highlights:
Her in-ring skills and improving in other departments:
“My in-ring skills are always something I’m going to continue to work on as I still have so much further to go. I’ve improved in that department, but I’m still looking to improve more. I’m hoping my speaking skills are improving. I can tell I’ve improved from the first day, but I’d like to see those improve more, and I’d like to speak more on our WWE programming.
“More importantly, confidence, too. You have to have self confidence. I heard a quote recently which I thought was interesting. ‘Self confidence comes from preparation.’ That’s very basic, but it’s a good reminder. Preparation is key. I keep thinking, ‘Just go for it.’”
Knowledge and her information overload:
“I’ve learned so much about myself since becoming a WWE Diva, and it’s so strange because I’m continuing to learn so much more. It’s like information overload. I’ve learned basic skills like time management, how to build myself up when I’m feeling pretty down, deal with challenging people, social skills, confidence for sure. I’ve really learned who I was by figuring out who I want to be. The more books, the more knowledge, the more things I can study and learn and know are helping me build myself into the woman I want to become in the next 10 years, 20 years.
“By being in a competitive environment and on the road all the time, you have moments that you’re so tired that you need to be your No.1 supporter, your best friend, yourself. I’m learning all of that, all in one.
“That’s changed my motivation. It’s making me want to to push harder, go faster, achieve. I want to know more. I want to learn more. I want to know about everything. I need more knowledge.”
