– AJ Styles recently spoke with The Mirror in the UK. The full interview is at this link. Below are highlights:
What has it been like working your first main feud in WWE with such an experienced and decorated star in Chris Jericho, who is also a friend of yours outside of the ring?
I think the feud is getting attention so we must be doing something right. And to have the opportunity hopefully to wrestle Chris at WrestleMania, he is the perfect opponent for me. We’ve had three matches before this one-on-one and our tag match and they’ve been great matches, so hopefully to have another and to have it on the biggest stage of them all will be very special. I can’t wait for the opportunity to get in front of all the people at WrestleMania and put on a match they won’t forget.
Can you talk us through your preparation for a big match? How do you like to spend the hour or so before you perform and how do you prepare yourself mentally for it?
I just find a corner. I sit and think about what’s about to take place and what I need to do to get the job done. I just kind of get in a quiet corner by myself and think about everything.
Do you see yourself leading a stable in WWE, as you have previously in your career, with great success?
Well, you never know when that might happen. You just never know who you’re going to team up with and have everything fit as it should, which is unbelievable. You never know… I could definitely see something like that happening.
