– Adam Rose recently spoke with Mike Mooneyham of The Post and Courier. The full interview can be found at this link. Below are some highlights:
Inspiration for his character:
“Strangely enough, initially it was more Austin Powers and Elton John. After it was done, people said it was more Russell Brand-ish. When we initially launched it, the idea was that it was going to be a fun character and something that people could enjoy. Wrestling-wise, we took a lot from Adrian Street and Rico (Constantino) and borrowed from some other things. Ever since, it’s gone through some turns and evolutions.”
Thanking people who have helped him in the business:
“There have been so many people involved. If you go way back, from FCW to NXT days, I don’t think Norman Smiley gets enough credit at all for being one of the hardest workers in the business and a man who has influenced so many different careers. Terry Taylor is another. And I’ll go so far to say — although a lot of people don’t want me to say it — Bill DeMott. He had a lot to do with me, especially when it came down to crunch time, he was there.”
