Her real name is Pamela Rose Martinez, and she was born on June 15, 1989 (age 35) in San Jose, California, United States. She uses the name Pamela Martinez for acting roles. Her WWE nickname is The Role Model.

Bayley was first seen as a bashful and over-excited fangirl in WWE NXT. Living out her childhood dream, the California native quickly proved that beyond her frequent hugs and sweet sentiments, she’s a dangerous operator with a full arsenal of moves, highlighted by her crowd-pleasing Bayley-to-Belly Suplex.

Bayley came within a whisker of capturing the NXT Women’s Championship several times. Then on August 22, 2015 at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, she dethroned Sasha Banks in an exhilarating battle. Bayley fended off the likes of Alexa Bliss, Carmella, Eva Marie and Nia Jax before losing the title to Asuka on April 1, 2016 at NXT TakeOver: Dallas.

Bayley and her colorful inflatable Bayley Buddies arrived to the WWE main roster on July 24, 2016 at WWE Battleground as Banks’ mystery tag team partner against WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte and Dana Brooke. “The Huggable One” won the Raw Women’s Championship from Charlotte Flair on the February 13, 2017 episode of Raw and successfully defended it two months later against “The Queen,” Banks and Jax in a Fatal 4-Way Match at WrestleMania 33.

Despite some lingering tension, Bayley and Banks formed a tag team partnership called The Boss ‘n’ Hug Connection. The duo inspired WWE to create the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. On February 17, 2019, they became the inaugural WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions after winning a WWE Women’s Tag Team Elimination Chamber Match at Elimination Chamber.

After losing the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship to The IIconics — Billie Kay and Peyton Royce — on April 7, 2019 at WrestleMania 35, Bayley pursued singles gold once again. On May 19, 2019 at WWE Money in the Bank, she won the 2019 Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match and cashed in her championship opportunity that night. She defeated Charlotte Flair to capture the SmackDown Women’s Championship for the first time.

After losing the SmackDown Women’s Championship to Flair on October 6, 2019 at WWE Hell in a Cell, Bayley cut her hair and destroyed the Bayley Buddies before defeating Flair later that week on Friday Night SmackDown to regain the title. Turning her back on her once-cheerful ways, Bayley looked to prove that she is the most dominant female Superstar in WWE and a true role model for fans.

Bayley reunited with Banks and the two ruled over Raw and SmackDown for several months. Bayley, however, severed their alliance when they failed to regain the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship from Shayna Baszler and Jax on the September 4, 2020 episode of SmackDown as she ruthlessly assaulted Banks after the bell. Despite her heinous actions, SmackDown selected Bayley with their first overall pick of Night Two of the 2020 WWE Draft.

Bayley’s second reign with the SmackDown Women’s Championship lasted 380 days as she dropped it to Banks on October 25, 2020 at WWE Hell in Cell. She failed to recapture the SmackDown Women’s Championship before sustaining a torn ACL on July 9, 2021 while training for a title match against Bianca Belair at WWE Money in the Bank. Due to her injury, Bayley was not drafted during the 2021 WWE Draft, therefore making her a free agent.

On July 31, 2022 at SummerSlam, Bayley reemerged alongside IYO SKY and Dakota Kai to stand defiantly in the face of Becky Lynch and Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair. Damage CTRL was born and the trio ran roughshod on Raw before being drafted to SmackDown in the 2023 WWE Draft.

IYO SKY captured the WWE Women’s Championship soon after and Damage CTRL increased in size to include Kairi Sane and Asuka. Bayley outlasted 29 WWE Superstars to win the Women’s Royal Rumble Match at Royal Rumble 2024 and earn a Women’s Championship Match at WrestleMania XL.

After winning the Women’s Royal Rumble Match, Bayley was betrayed by Damage CTRL, who kicked her out of the group. Bayley then announced she would challenge SKY for the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania XL. At WrestleMania XL Sunday on April 7, 2024, Bayley defeated SKY to win the WWE Women’s Championship for the second time.
