The muscular Lex Luger earned the nickname “The Total Package” due to his uncanny ability to dominate in the ring in ever way possible. Able to compete against grapplers of any size, Luger dominated opponents in Jim Crockett Promotions, World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE).
Luger is a two-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, having won the prestigious title in 1991 and 1997. Luger also captured the United States Championship five times and holds records for consecutive days and total days as United States Champion. Although Luger never won a title in the WWF, he challenged Yokozuna for the WWF World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam 1993 and WrestleMania X in 1994. Luger shared the winner’s circle of the 1994 Royal Rumble Match with Bret “Hit Man” Hart and later joined forces with The British Bulldog to form The Allied Powers.
Luger was also a key figure in the Monday Night War, leaving the WWF to make a shocking appearance on the debut episode of WCW Monday Nitro.
