Dixie Carter and John Gaburick Reportedly Talk with Former WWE Champion About Coming to TNA

– We’ve heard reports of TNA trying to sign Edge, Alberto El Patron (Alberto Del Rio) and CM Punk in the past year, and now they’ve reportedly made a big play for another former WWE Champion – Rey Mysterio.

TNA reportedly tried to sign Mysterio this past week as both Dixie Carter and John Gaburick spoke with him. They pushed the idea that they could get Rey’s merchandise into stores and open doors for him to do movies and TV work, and they would build around him as TNA’s long sought after Mexican superstar. TNA was also willing to allow Rey to work anywhere else he wanted to on his off days.

Rey is still expected to sign with Lucha Underground soon.
