A police investigation is underway after Rusev claimed that he and his wife Lana’s personal items were stolen at a hotel in Memphis, Tennessee.
The SmackDown LIVE Superstars were in Memphis last Monday at an anti-bullying event benefiting the Boys & Girls Club when the alleged crime occurred.
Rusev, whose real name is Miroslav Barnyashev, took to Twitter that day to tweet that he and his wife’s items were stolen at the Sheraton Memphis Downtown Hotel.
Thank you @sheratonhotels Memphis for “cleaning” the room and stealing my wife camera and my money from my wallet

According to FOX13 Memphis, Memphis police said they were called to the hotel at around 3 p.m. on June 11.
Rusev told police he and his wife left their room at 12:30 p.m. and when they returned at around 1:10 p.m., multiple things were gone.
His wallet, which had $500 in cash and a Sony digital camera, was listed as the items stolen.
Police said the suspect – Portia Williams – is a cleaning person at the hotel. Williams entered the hotel room to clean it with the “do not disturb” sign hung on the door, police said.
Williams said she found the victim’s wallet in the trash inside a chicken box.
Security retrieved the wallet and gave it back to Rusev, but the $500 was still missing.
A few hours after SmackDown LIVE at the FedExForum, Paige tweeted about the same hotel with similar accusations.
If you’re in the Memphis area don’t EVER stay at the @SheratonMemphis it’s literally the worst. Things stolen, bad customer service and room service takes two hours just for a salad and WE are the inconvenience. Ugh. The worst.

Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet reached out to the Sheraton Memphis Downtown Hotel due to the allegations made and a hotel operator said “no comment” before a manager would get on the phone.
Rusev replied to Satin’s tweet to say that he filed a police report and plans to press charges. The SmackDown LIVE Superstar also said security blamed him for keeping the items in the room.
Dig in. I’m prosecuting. Especially after the head of security said it’s my fault for living my stuff in the room. https://t.co/VFXa5P3bL0
