After spending months recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon, Riddick Moss returned to the ring at Friday’s NXT live event in Jacksonville, Florida.
Matt Riddle cut an in-ring promo where he said he would end up at the top of NXT, SmackDown, Raw, WrestleMania, and he will be the man to retire Brock Lesnar. Before Riddle could say anything else, he was attacked from behind by Moss.

Later in the show, Riddle stormed the ring and demanded Moss come out for a match. After exchanging power moves, Riddle hit Moss with a Bro To Sleep (GTS) and German suplex combo. The finish saw Kassius Ohno make his way to ringside in an attempt to distract Riddle, but it was to no avail. Riddle used the Bromission for the tap out as Ohno looked on.

On Saturday, Moss took to Twitter to congratulate himself on returning from injury.
Id like to be the 1st to congratulate you on last night. What you’ve done is nothing short of extraordinary. Returning from a ruptured achilles tendon in 5 months, faster than any athlete from any sport ever, is truly incredible. You’re an inspiration Riddick Moss#RiddickRegimen

Moss, who is 29 years old, is among the longest-tenured wrestlers in the WWE developmental system. A former football player from the University of Minnesota (2008-2012), he joined the WWE Performance Center in early 2014 after the summer went by without a contract offer from an NFL team. He made his wrestling debut in December 2014 and debuted on television in May 2015. He was used as an enhancement wrestler until he began teaming with Tino Sabbatelli in August 2016. The duo didn’t find much success as they were infrequently featured on television. They broke up in April, just a few weeks before Moss went down with an injury.
While Moss hasn’t been seen on TV too much, he has a lot of wrestling experience after four years. He’s a fixture at NXT live events in Florida and has wrestled over 230 matches overall (a number of wrestlers have been promoted to the main roster with far less wrestling experience).
In a trivia note, his ring name was inspired by former NFL star Randy Moss.
