WWE Champion AJ Styles was back in action at Saturday’s WWE live event in Trenton, New Jersey.
After facing Rusev on the March 13th episode of SmackDown LIVE, Styles didn’t wrestle at any of WWE’s house shows last weekend due to an undisclosed injury. He only appeared at Madison Square Garden on the 16th, where they did an injury angle to turn Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn into Nakamura vs. Owens. Owens and Zayn attacked Styles’ knee before the scheduled match, then Styles came back out later to make the save for Nakamura.
In Trenton, Styles teamed with all three members of The New Day against Rusev, Aiden English, Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin. Styles pinned English after hitting the Phenomenal Forearm (as seen in the clip below).

Styles appeared on SmackDown LIVE last Tuesday and was on commentary for Nakamura vs. Rusev, but he didn’t do anything physical.
