It was last June when Carmella climbed the ladder to capture the Women’s Money in the Bank briefcase — containing the binding contract for a title match at the moment of her choosing — in a rematch after the initial contest was controversially won, also in her favor, by James Ellsworth.
Since then, “Ms. Money in the Bank” has been biding her time for the right moment to strike.
Quite like how Baron Corbin unsuccessfully cashed in the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match contract with a loss to Jinder Mahal last August, WWE creative plans on having Carmella fail as well.
Their current plan is for Carmella to unsuccessfully cash in her Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match contract against Asuka, who will defeat Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 34 to capture the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
Regarding the cash in date, it is said that Carmella and others in WWE feel that her unsuccessful cash in attempt should take place at WrestleMania 34, moments after Asuka captures the SmackDown Women’s Championship. However, there are others who feel that WrestleMania 34 will already feature enough memorable and this could be saved for another day.
Carmella caught wind of the aforementioned report, which was published here last Saturday, after a fan wrote to her on Twitter: “People are actually believing rumors that your cash in won’t be successful.”
She responded:
Well if it’s on the internet, it’s definitely true!!! https://t.co/3nCaeTQXkH
