WWE Releases Another NXT Wrestler, Ivory Talks WWE Hall of Fame Induction, WWE Stars Read To Children

– Gu Guangming, who wrestled under the name Ming in NXT, has been released from his developmental contract with WWE.

WWE confirmed his release to F4WOnline.com, as well as that of Abbey Laith and Sage Beckett. It appears that they were only wrestlers to be let go on Thursday.

Guangming was part of a group of seven recruits from China that WWE signed to developmental contracts following a four-day tryout in Shangai in June 2016. He began training at the WWE Performance Center in February 2017.

Under the name Ming, he began appearing at NXT live events in August as an enforcer for Kona Reeves. He made his in-ring debut on October 21, 2017, at an NXT house show in Citrus Springs, Florida, losing to Angelo Dawkins. He wrestled four more house show matches, all in Florida, with his last bout taking place two weeks ago in a win over fellow Chinese recruit Cheng Yuxiang.

He never appeared on NXT television.

Before joining WWE, Guangming was an amateur boxer in China.

– WWE announced last month that Lisa Moretti, known as Ivory in the ring, will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2018.

“It wasn’t until after I told my family, and seeing how excited they were, that I realized what a big deal it was,” Moretti said in an interview with The Journal of the San Juan Islands.

“I am honored to be a part of that awesome talent, and to have experienced some of the pinnacle moments of the evolution of women’s wrestling.”

Moretti has been living on San Juan Island since 2000, and even appeared in the local community theater’s production of the musical, Chicago.
