With Asuka’s victory over 29 other competitors at the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble Match, The Empress of Tomorrow has earned the right to challenge a Women’s Champion at WrestleMania 34. But who will she will she be facing? Will it be SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair? Or will it be Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss?
According to a report on Wednesday by Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Asuka will challenge Charlotte for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania.
Barrasso did not offer additional details on this, such as whether this means Asuka will become a member of SmackDown LIVE. The report, however, reveals that Carmella will not successfully cash in her Money in the Bank contract by WrestleMania.
Meanwhile, Barrasso says that Bliss will defend the Raw Women’s Championship against Nia Jax at WrestleMania.
At WWE Elimination Chamber, Bayley, Sasha Banks, Sonya Deville, Mandy Rose, and Mickie James will challenge Bliss for the Raw Women’s Championship in the first-ever Women’s Elimination Chamber Match. Barrasso’s report would indicate that Bliss will retain the title in the match.
Also scheduled for Elimination Chamber is Asuka vs Nia Jax in a one-on-one showdown. If Jax can manage to overcome her opponent’s unbeaten streak, she will earn the right to be part of the Raw Women’s Championship Match at WrestleMania. The report would indicate that Jax will end Asuka’s unbeaten streak at Elimination Chamber and go on to face Bliss at WrestleMania.
