A WWE corporate release delivered some of the coldest words in wrestling on October 29, 2017, offering Emma, Darren Young, and Summer Rae “the best in all of their future endeavors.”
Another wrestler WWE considered letting go at the time was 205 Live star Lince Dorado.
Last fall, a creative writer complained to management that Dorado was very aggressive in pitching ideas to him and that the writer felt threatened by comments the wrestler had made to him. The writer actually claimed Dorado threatened to kill him during a heated argument. This is why Dorado disappeared from 205 Live for over three months (his final match for 2017 took place on Oct. 2 at a WWE Main Event taping and he didn’t return until Jan. 22, 2018 for a Raw dark match).
During the course of the investigation, they interviewed several people who witnessed the altercation and all of them backed up Dorado’s story that he didn’t threaten to kill the writer. Since nobody would take the writer’s side in interviews, WWE had no grounds to fire Dorado even if the accusation is true. It should also be noted that this writer isn’t well-liked among wrestlers in WWE.
WWE decided to bring back Dorado and give him a small push on 205 Live for making him sit at home for so long. He picked up three wins with Kalisto and Gran Metalik as his tag team partners but lost to Kalisto last week in the first round of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.
