Former NXT Wrestler Reveals WWE’s Original Plans For SAnitY

Eric Young, Killian Dain, Alexander Wolfe, and Nikki Cross, otherwise known as SAnitY, have run roughshod through NXT since debuting in October 2016.

The group officially debuted during the 2016 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, successfully defeating Tye Dillinger and Bobby Roode, as well as TJP and Kota Ibushi. Although they fell short in the semi-finals against TM61, the faction experienced a shift when Sawyer Fulton was abandoned from the group in exchange for eventually Killian Dain.

With the new version of the group, they have experienced even more success, with Cross gaining an opportunity to win the NXT Championship against Asuka and Ruby Red at the upcoming NXT TakeOver: Chicago event.

However, both of these versions were not scheduled to be the original faction.

According to former NXT wrestler Marcus Louis, the original concept was supposed to be different.

“Initially, SAniTy was supposed to be Sami Callihan, myself, and Sawyer Fulton,” Louis revealed during an interview on the Pancakes and Powerslams podcast.

“[We] were the three people who were supposed to be SAniTy at first. I was told about this idea in late 2015. It was September 2015, I think, I was told by Triple H himself. He came [and said], ‘I have this great idea for you guys. We’re gonna bring you in as a trio of sort of like punk-looking people, sort of like Mad Max.’ And then it was supposed to be Crowe, myself, and Fulton. But he was like long-term, and it was a long shot already. So Callihan left NXT, and then there was a different talk. They were talking about bringing in somebody new to be the leader of this faction.”
