While new Raw commentator David Otunga is spending the next six weeks shooting “Katrina,” an upcoming action film, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T will be temporarily joining Michael Cole and Corey Graves at the Team Red announce desk.
The change comes mere days after the Superstar Shake-up moved Otunga from the SmackDown LIVE broadcast team to Raw, while the red brand’s Byron Saxton went to Team Blue. Booker, a longtime former SmackDown commentator, and frequent Kickoff panelist will now bring his insight to Raw until Otunga returns to WWE TV in late May.
During an interview over the weekend with The Roman Show at the Supercon Retro in Miami, Florida, Booker gave his thoughts on joining the Raw commentary team.
“There’s always pressure. WWE is a machine. Being on SmackDown or Raw, I wouldn’t say it is not the same because they are two totally different brands, two different entities, but I am looking forward to working with Michael Cole and Corey Graves and giving it my brand of commentating. I bring my own style,” Booker said.
“I don’t speak like they do. I speak for the people. I think it’ll be refreshing. I am going to be there for six weeks for now, but you never know.”
