Simon Gotch released
WWE has come to terms on a mutually agreed upon release with Simon Gotch as of today, April 5, 2017. WWE wishes Gotch the best in all his future endeavors.
Gotch wrestled a dark match last night before SmackDown LIVE with Aiden English. They faced off against American Alpha, with Gotch taking the pin.
Gotch also participated in the 2017 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on Sunday, which aired during the second hour of the WrestleMania Kickoff.
After news of his release came out, Gotch changed his Twitter name to ‘Simon (TBD)’ and sent out this tweet.
All wrestling, interview, appearance, etc.

He also noted that he will “address everything soon” after lining up some interviews.
After joining WWE when the Performance Center opened in 2013, Gotch had his most notable success in the company as part of The Vaudevillains with English in NXT. They won the NXT Tag Team Championship from Blake and Murphy at TakeOver: Brooklyn in August 2015 before dropping the titles to The Revival at a TV taping a few months later.
Gotch and English were promoted to the main roster after WrestleMania last year. They were a threat in the tag team division until joining SmackDown LIVE in the WWE Draft in July, where they were positioned on the lower end of the brand’s tag team division.
