This week on SmackDown LIVE, Dolph Ziggler squared off with Mojo Rawley after the two WWE stars got personal with one another in the backstage area last week. Rawley, fresh off announcing his entry into the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania, picked up a count-out victory when Ziggler opted to simply walk away after getting increasingly despondent due to Rawley throwing him over the top rope.
Following the match, Ziggler cut this promo on why he left the match early.
There’s a lot of people around here who think they just belong because they’re here. And that’s not true. You can fight and work your way here or you can be handed a pass and stroll on in. It doesn’t mean you belong. Everyone wants to make a name for themselves, everyone wants to prove how good they are, and all of a sudden, always around WrestleMania season, everyone has to prove and want to show up each other. Meanwhile, I do this 365-days a year. The same, the bar, you name it, I do it better.
Now, if you want to make a name for yourself against me and be in the ring you have to be good. You’re really reaching and reaching when you send Mojo Rawley into the ring, happy-go-lucky guy. Damn, we were really reaching tonight. We were really reaching, Mojo. But here’s a sad, sad piece of very real news: you can keep reaching but you’ll never reach that brass ring. Do you know why? Because I am the brass ring and no one can touch me.
