As noted, it was recently reported by Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that former WWE NXT Superstar Chris Hero, known in NXT as Kassius Ohno, is headed back to WWE.
No other details on Hero’s return were available, including whether or not he would be returning to NXT or debuting on the main roster. It then appeared that Hero may not be returning at all after he made this tweet:
I can't help but to be disappointed by irresponsible journalism.
— Chris Hero (@thechrishero) December 12, 2016
For what it’s worth, Meltzer replied to a fan on Twitter and told them that Hero’s tweet was not referring to his report. There have been other reports on Hero’s return being scheduled for the NXT brand and it’s possible Hero was referring to that.
Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio this week that Hero is still returning and while plans could fall through, everyone is moving forward with the idea that he’s coming back. Hero has already passed his medical tests and it’s believed nothing else will come up that could delay or prevent the return. There’s still no word yet on if he’s coming to the main roster or not but he is in the process of coming back to the company.
