For the first time in WWE history, two female stars will compete in a Hell in a Cell Match, as Sasha Banks prepares to defend the Raw Women Championship against Charlotte Flair. According to both F4WOnline.com and PWInsider.com, WWE officials plan to have the match go on last. It would be the first time a WWE pay-per-view event has ended with a women’s match.
Speculation over which match would main event Hell in a Cell grew earlier this month when Raw General Manager Mick Foley announced in a post Facebook post that the match would go on last, but he later clarified that the match order for the event wasn’t yet finalized. WWE then began promoting Hell in a Cell as featuring a “Triple Main Event” with the show’s three Hell in a Cell Matches.
It was reported last week by Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com that there were internal discussions about which match would go on last and that Vince McMahon was not in favor of ending Hell in a Cell with the Raw Women’s Championship Match. Meltzer, however, noted that McMahon often changes his mind and that the match order had not yet been finalized.
