– The 2016 WWE No Mercy Kickoff pre-show opens with fans making their way into the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California. We’re live with Renee Young, Lita, Booker T and Jerry Lawler as they hype tonight’s show. Renee says for the first time in WWE history, the main event will open the show. We go backstage to Tom Phillips in the Social Media Lounge. He will be joined by The Usos later. We go back to Renee and she leads us to a video package for Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt.
– We get discussion on Orton vs. Wyatt and come back from a break. Renee leads us to a video package on tonight’s Career vs. Title match. More discussion from the panel until Curt Hawkins makes his way out. He did what he said he would do, step foot in the ring at No Mercy. Hawkins goes on and has an announcement… he will have his return match on Tuesday’s SmackDown episode. Renee leads us to another break. We come back to Alexa Bliss with Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan backstage. Shane says SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch has a non-physical medical issue and she can’t compete tonight. Bliss signed a contract for a title shot and wants one tonight. Bryan says she will get her title shot on November 8th in Glasgow, Scotland but it sounds like she will be in action tonight. We get more discussion from the panel and comments from The Usos in the Social Media Lounge. More discussion from Renee and the panel before another break.
– Back from the break and Nikki Bella has joined the panel.
American Alpha and The Hype Bros vs. The Vaudevillains and The Ascension
We go to the ring and Mauro Ranallo is with JBL and David Otunga. Chad Gable and Jason Jordan are out first followed by their partners Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley. Simon Gotch and Aiden English are out next followed by partners Konnor and Viktor.
Gable starts off with English and takes him down. Back and forth until Jordan and Gotch get involved. American Alpha with dropkicks. Jordan with a 2 count on English. Ryder comes in but English decks him and tags in Viktor. He takes control until Ryder catches Viktor in a neckbreaker for a 2 count. Mojo comes in and he’s hyped. Mojo ducks a boot and nails a running clothesline for a 2 count. Konnor tags in and works Mojo in. Ryder ends up coming in. American Alpha takes out The Vaudevillains. The babyface teams clear the ring as we go to a break.
Back from the break and Konnor works over Ryder. Viktor tags in for some double teaming and a 2 count. Konnor with another tag before English tags back in. English with a 2 count. He keeps Ryder grounded now. Ryder with a jawbreaker. English stops Ryder from tagging and in comes Gotch, then Konnor. Konnor runs into boots but still stops Ryder from tagging. They go to the floor and into the barrier. Ryder makes it back in first and tosses Viktor to the floor, then Gotch. Viktor knocks Gable off the apron and stops the tag. Ryder side steps and Konnor runs into the ring post. Jordan tags in as does English. Jordan unloads and everyone gets involved. The finish sees American Alpha hit the double team on English for the pin by Jordan.
Winners: American Alpha and The Hype Bro
– After the match, we go to replays. The heels retreat as the face teams stand tall in the ring.
– We get more hype for tonight’s WWE World Title match and that’s it for the pre-show.
– The 2016 WWE No Mercy pay-per-view kicks off with a video package. We’re live from Sacramento as the pyro goes off. Mauro Ranallo is joined by JBL and David Otunga.
Triple Threat for the WWE World Title: John Cena vs. Dean Ambrose vs. AJ Styles
We go right to the ring and out comes John Cena to a very mixed reactions. Dean Ambrose is out next to a pop. WWE World Champion AJ Styles is out next as we get a lengthy video package and formal ring introductions from Greg Hamilton.
The bell rings and we get some trash talking between the three to start. They all look for an early win with finisher attempts. Ambrose beasts Cena down and takes him from corner to corner, also knocking AJ back. They go to the floor and Ambrose works Cena into the barrier. He slams AJ’s head into the announce table. Ambrose goes for an elbow off the apron to Cena but Cena catches him and rams him into the ring post. AJ leaps out and takes Cena down with a forearm. AJ brings it back in and stands tall over Cena. AJ goes at it with Ambrose now. Cena nails a German suplex on both of them at the same time. Styles knocks Ambrose off the apron. Cena catapults AJ into the corner. Cena drops AJ over his shoulder and covers for a 2 count. Cena goes for the Attitude Adjustment but AJ lands on his feet and nails a pele kick.
More back and forth. Styles drops both opponents with a DDT. Styles with a 2 count on Ambrose and then a 2 count on Cena. AJ ends up back-dropping Ambrose to the floor and he hits the steel steps on the way down. Styles goes back to work on Cena now. Cena counters. Cena goes on and gets another 2 count. Cena goes for a super AA from the corner but AJ turns it into a powerbomb for a 2 count. Cena and AJ go at it now. AJ catches Cena in a sleeper hold. Cena reverses and gets AJ in the sleeper.
Ambrose with a sleeper on Cena now. It’s broken and Cena eventually comes back with the shoulders and his usual moves. AJ stops the Five Knuckle Shuffle and hits a German. AJ goes on and covers for a 2 count on Cena. Ambrose drops AJ on his face for a 2 count. Ambrose goes to the floor. Cena goes to work on AJ. Ambrose comes off the top with an elbow on Cena for a 2 count. AJ comes off the top and nails Cena as well. AJ blocks Dirty Deeds. AJ climbs up for a Frankensteiner and hits it but Ambrose kicks out at 2. AJ counters and rolls Ambrose up for another 2 count. They both go down and Ambrose covers for a 2 count. Cena re-enters the ring to some boos.
Cena with the Shuffle on both opponents at the same time. Cena hits the AA on AJ. AJ rolls to the floor. Ambrose comes over with a Dirty Deeds attempt but Cena counters and hits him with the AA. Ambrose kicks out at 2. Cena gets the STF on Ambrose. Ambrose starts fading as AJ breaks the hold. AJ counters on the apron and nails a snap suplex to Cena on the apron. AJ springboards in and nails the 450 on Ambrose for a close 2 count. AJ springboards in again but Ambrose catches him. AJ blocks Dirty Deeds and hits the Styles Clash. Cena breaks a pin attempt and puts Styles in the STF. Ambrose stops AJ’s hand from tapping. Ambrose beats on Cena and breaks the hold now.
Ambrose works over Cena and AJ now. Cena scoops both opponents at the same time for an AA but they avoid it. Everything falls apart as Cena goes down via Styles kick and Ambrose nails a big clothesline on AJ. Ambrose takes Styles up for a super Dirty Deeds but Cena powerbombs Ambrose to the mat for a 2 count. AJ nails a crossbody on Cena but Cena rolls through and stands up. Cena picks AJ up for the AA but AJ rolls out and applies the Calf Crusher. Ambrose eventually breaks it. More back and forth. Ambrose gets a Calf Crusher applied on Styles now. Cena comes over and applies the STF on Styles while Ambrose has Styles in a hold at the same time. AJ taps.
After the submission, the referee continues the match. Cena and Ambrose argue in the middle of the ring. Cena decks Ambrose and they go at it. Cena nails a huge clothesline. Cena goes for an AA but Ambrose counters and nails Dirty Deeds. Styles pulls the referee out of the ring and keeps the match going. Ambrose comes out and AJ ends up thrown over the German announce table. Ambrose goes back in and goes to the top but Cena cuts him off. Cena hits the super AA but AJ runs in and nails Cena with a steel chair. AJ covers Cena for the win.
Winner: AJ Styles
– After the match, AJ stands tall with the title as Ambrose recovers on the floor. Cena is down in the ring. We go to replays and come back to AJ celebrating as Cena looks on from the ramp. Ambrose is still looking up from ringside.
– We get a break and come back to the announcers hyping Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt for later tonight. They air a video package.
Carmella vs. Nikki Bella
We go to the ring and out first comes Nikki Bella. Carmella is out next.
The bell rings and Carmella tries to retreat as Nikki charges. Nikki goes at it with her and drops her with a slap to the face. Nikki talks some trash as she works Carmella over and stands tall. Carmella goes to the floor but Nikki baseball slides into her. Nikki goes to the floor but Carmella turns it around. Carmella launches Nikki into the apron. Carmella heads back in and stands tall as the referee counts. Carmella focuses on Nikki’s neck now.
Carmella wraps Nikki around the ring post and comes back in for a 2 count. Carmella keeps Nikki grounded now. Carmella does the moonwalk and hits a Bronco Buster for a 2 count. Carmella keeps Nikki down again. Nikki tries to fight free but Carmella takes her to the corner and pulls down by the hair as the referee warns her. Carmella with another moonwalk. She charges and Nikki tackles her.
Nikki comes back and hits a dropkick. Nikki with more offense and another pin attempt. Carmella tries to escape but Nikki hits the Bella Buster for a 2 count. Carmella with a head scissors takedown and a superkick for a 2 count. Carmella ends up getting the Code of Silence applied. Nikki powers up and nails a big forearm after roll-up attempts. Carmella counters and applies Code of Silence again. Nikki reaches for the bottom rope and finally makes it. Carmella shows frustration now. Carmella slaps and unloads on Nikki, talking trash. Nikki scoops Carmella for the Rack Attack 2.0 and the pin.
Winner: Nikki Bella
– After the match, Nikki stands tall and has her arm raised as we go to replays.
– Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan are backstage talking about how good the show is going. WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz appears with Maryse and talks about how the show will be better when he retires Dolph Ziggler. Miz goes on to knock Bryan over what he calls Bryan’s failed in-ring career. Miz says he wants to re-negotiate his contract after tonight’s win. He says SmackDown will have some extra funds once Ziggler isn’t on the roster. Miz and Maryse leave.
– We go to a “More Than Pink” promo.
SmackDown Tag Team Title Match: The Usos vs. Heath Slater and Rhyno
We go to the ring and our first come The Usos. SmackDown Tag Team Champions Heath Slater and Rhyno are out next.
Rhyno starts things off with Jimmy Uso and they go at it. Back and forth as Rhyno takes Uso to the corner. Slater tags in and they double team Uso. Slater with a big strike in the corner. Uso drops Slater with a big right hand. Jey Uso tags in and chops Slater down as Jimmy holds him. More back and forth as everyone gets involved. It settles back down and Jey keeps control of Rhyno. Jey tags in Jimmy after making another pin attempt. Jey holds Rhyno and Jimmy kicks him for a 2 count. Jimmy keeps Rhyno down now.
The Usos keep control of the match and keep Rhyno cut off with tags. Jimmy runs into an elbow and Rhyno finally gets a break. Rhyno nails a big spinebuster. Slater gets a hot tag and unloads. Slater with a neckbreaker and a 2 count on Jey. Slater counters and rolls Jey up for 2. Jey catches Slater in a big Samoan Drop for a close 2 count.
Rhyno brings Jey to the floor but gets laid out. Jimmy goes to the top but Slater runs up and powerslams him to the mat. Slater covers for another 2 close count. Jimmy with a big superkick on Slater. The Usos double team Slater and take the leg out. Rhyno nails a Gore on Jimmy on the floor. Jey with a submission on Slater. Rhyno comes in and breaks it by running over Jey. Rhyno waits for a tag now. Slater makes the tag and in comes Rhyno. He nails a Gore on Jey for the win.
Winners: Rhyno and Heath Slater
– After the match, we get replays as The Usos leave and the champions stand tall in the ring.
Jack Swagger vs. Baron Corbin
Back from a break and Jack Swagger makes his way out. Baron Corbin is out next as we see more international announce teams in the arena tonight.
The bell rings and they go at it as Corbin strikes first. They end up on the floor and Swagger turns it around. Swagger’s hand is between the steps and the ring post as Corbin boots it. Corbin floors him with a clothesline and brings it back in the ring, focusing on Swagger’s arm and hand. Corbin talks trash to Swagger and keeps him down.
More back and forth after Swagger makes a comeback. Swagger gets fired up again and goes for the Swagger Bomb. He hits it and covers for a 2 count. Corbin blocks the Patriot Lock and goes after the hand again. Corbin hits a Deep Six for a close 2 count. Corbin argues with the referee. He keeps control and stands tall, wasting some time. Swagger eventually gets the Patriot Lock applied but it’s broken as Corbin suckers the referee in. Corbin hits a thumb to the eye and then End of Days for the win.
Winner: Baron Corbin
– After the match, Corbin heads to the back as we get replays. Swagger is selling the eye poke as Corbin looks on.

Career vs. Title Match: Dolph Ziggler vs. WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz
We go to the ring and out comes WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz with wife Maryse. Dolph Ziggler is out next.
Hamilton does formal ring introductions. The bell rings and here we go. They both miss big shots early on. Ziggler with a 2 count. Ziggler goes out but runs right back in with a dropkick. Ziggler sends Miz to the floor and into the barrier. Miz turns it back around in the ring and keeps Ziggler down as fans do dueling chants for both. Miz keeps Ziggler grounded now.
Ziggler reverses a hold but Miz nails a big clothesline. Miz with a running boot to the face for a 2 count. Miz stomps on Ziggler and slingshots him under the bottom rope. Miz mocks Daniel Bryan while working on Ziggler’s knees. Miz with a knee to the back as he keeps Ziggler down. Ziggler fights up but Miz catches a superkick. Miz with a neckbreaker combo for a 2 count. Miz nails a running dropkick in the corner, and another. Miz hits the third running dropkick and mocks Bryan again. Ziggler blocks the next dropkick with one of his own. They both struggle to get up now. Miz misses a clothesline and Ziggler nails a few of his own. Ziggler with a corner splash, a neckbreaker and a big elbow drop for a 2 count.
Miz catches Ziggler for a powerbomb but Ziggler rolls him up for a 2 count. Miz with a big boot for a 2 count as he uses the ropes for leverage. The referee sees it and warns him. Miz argues back. This leads to another trading of pin attempts. Miz nails a DDT for a 2 count after taking the knee out again. More back and forth. Ziggler blocks a Figure Four. Miz turns it back around and goes for the hold again but Ziggler gets a 2 count. Miz with the big clothesline in the corner. Ziggler crotches Miz and climbs up for a superplex. Miz finally gets the Figure Four locked in and Ziggler can’t make it to the bottom rope. His shoulders go down but he kicks out at 2. Ziggler keeps trying for the bottom rope and finally makes it. Miz keeps the move held as long as he can.
Maryse distracts the referee while Miz exposes a turnbuckle. Ziggler jumps up and hits the Rough Ryder for a 2 count. Ziggler ends up going into the exposed steel. Miz with the sitdown powerbomb for a close 2 count. Ziggler gets to his knees but Miz kicks him. Fans chant “no!” as Miz kicks. Ziggler ducks the roundhouse and nails a Zig Zag for a close 2 count. Fans rally for Ziggler. Miz blocks the superkick. Ziggler blocks the Skull Crushing Finale and rolls Miz up for 2. Ziggler gets the sleeper hold applied.

Kenny and Mikey of The Spirit Squad run out and distract the referee on the apron. Ziggler superkicks Mikey off the apron. Miz nails a Skull Crushing Finale for a close 2 count. Maryse can’t believe it. Fans chant “this is awesome” now. Kenny gets back on the apron, leading to the referee ejecting all three from ringside. Ziggler takes advantage of Miz being distracts and nails a superkick for the win and the title.
Winner and New WWE Intercontinental Champion: Dolph Ziggler
– After the bell, Ziggler takes his title and gets to his feet for the celebration. We get replays and come back to Ziggler making his exit with the title in the air as a very sad Miz looks on from the ring.
– We go back to the panel for discussion on tonight’s show.
Alexa Bliss vs. Naomi
We go to the ring and out comes Alexa Bliss. She rips SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch for being unable to compete tonight. Alexa says the real reason Becky can’t compete is because she’s afraid to lose the title to her. Bliss goes on until Naomi interrupts and out she comes for a match.
Bliss takes control early on and talks trash while working Naomi over. Naomi comes back and hits her signature kicks. She drops Bliss with a kick to the head. Naomi with a split-legged moonsault for a 2 count. Bliss comes back and nails a nasty forearm to the face. Naomi counters but gets dropped by her hair on the apron. Bliss keeps control and works on Naomi’s arm now.
Bliss keeps Naomi down but Naomi eventually makes a comeback. Naomi with a dropkick and a Rear View. Bliss kicks out at 2. Bliss counters a move and drops Naomi for the cross armbreaker. Naomi reverses it and pins the #1 contender out of nowhere.
Winner: Naomi
– After the bell, Naomi makes her exit as Bliss throws a fit in the middle of the ring.
– We get more hype for tonight’s main event. They have aired a few backstage mind games segments with Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt tonight.
Bray Wyatt vs. Randy Orton
We go to the ring and out first comes Bray Wyatt. Randy Orton is out next as fans chant his name.
They lock up and break. Wyatt turns upside down and taunts Orton. Orton goes for the RKO but Wyatt avoids it and goes to the floor laughing. Orton takes control with stomps and knees now. Orton with more offense until Wyatt grabs him for Sister Abigail. Orton slides out of the move and sends Wyatt to the apron. Wyatt snaps Orton’s neck over the top rope. Wyatt brings Orton out and sends him into the barrier. Wyatt keeps control and slams Orton head first into the announce table. Orton goes for the RKO outta nowhere but Wyatt blocks it and shoves him over the table.
Wyatt breaks the count and goes back outside. He takes apart the steel steps but Orton attacks with a right hand and a clothesline. Orton with another clothesline on the floor. Wyatt sends Orton into the barrier and poses in the corner, mocking Orton. Wyatt stands tall in the ring as the referee counts. Orton makes it back in but Wyatt stomps away. Wyatt with a clothesline and a senton for a 2 count. Orton fights back with rights but Wyatt nails a knee. Wyatt with a splash in the corner as Orton goes back down. Wyatt with a 2 count.
More back and forth. They trade shots on the apron. Wyatt with a DDT on the apron for a 2 count. Wyatt with another quick cover. Wyatt clotheslines Orton for another pin attempt. They trade more holds and control of the match for several minutes. Wyatt blocks the draping DDT and covers for another pin attempt. Wyatt goes for the uranage but it’s blocked. They trade finisher counters again. Wyatt hits the uranage for a 2 count. Wyatt tosses Orton out to the floor and follows. Wyatt charges for a senton on top of the steps but Orton rolls off and Wyatt lands on the steel.
Orton breaks the count but goes back to work on Wyatt at the announce table. Orton backdrops Wyatt on top of the barrier and brings it back in the ring. Orton with the second rope draping DDT. Orton gets the crowd riled up and waits for Wyatt to stand. The Wyatt graphics flash and the lights go out. They come back on and Luke Harper is standing there in Orton’s face. Wyatt nails Sister Abigail for the win.
Winner: Bray Wyatt
– After the bell, Wyatt starts laughing as Harper stands tall and raises his arms. Harper helps Wyatt to his feet and they embrace as we go to replays. No Mercy goes off the air with Harper and Wyatt standing tall on the stage.
