Cody Rhodes will be working for TNA and Ring of Honor at the same time.
This is according to Dave Meltzer on today’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio. Meltzer said that he spoke with Rhodes at Pro Wrestling Guerrilla’s Battle of Los Angeles event over the weekend, who told him the news.
Rhodes’ deal is unique because wrestlers never work for TNA and ROH at the same time. TNA wrestlers are allowed to work on the independents but they aren’t allowed to work with a company that has a TV deal. In this case, Rhodes would not be under contract to either company.
He will be working with Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis in TNA and Rhodes’ wife Brandi will be involved in the feud. She did ring announcing for her husband at Battle of Los Angeles. He will be working with several people in ROH but his opponent of choice is Adam Cole.
Rhodes will likely have to work under a new name since he does not own the rights to “Cody Rhodes” — it is trademarked by WWE.
