– We reported over the weekend via the Wrestling Observer that Vince McMahon hasn’t been backstage at WWE events in recent weeks, and wasn’t expected back until after Summerslam. In an update, Vince was in fact on hand last night in Corpus Christi. While away for the better part of two weeks, Vince continued to micromanage every pertinent detail for both RAW and Smackdown.
– As previously noted, Brock Lesnar is scheduled to make appearances in the New York area throughout the week to promote his appearance in WWE 2K17. Shortly after announcing Goldberg’s presence over the weekend, WWE pulled a video shortly after posting it that had Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman hyping the WWE 2K17 game with Lesnar warning Goldberg that he was next. That video was re-added during RAW.
F4Wonline.com notes that this could all be blown way out of proportion, as Goldberg is contractually obligated to attend media events and isn’t scheduled for anything else during Summerslam weekend. Goldberg is actually coming to New York for 2K, not WWE, but it is very possible that there could be some talks with people in WWE while he’s in town. Goldberg will be flying into New York after appearing at the biggest gaming convention in the world on Thursday in Cologne, Germany – GamesCon.
