WWE Universal Title Match Announced for SummerSlam

The main event for this year’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view will feature RAW competitors Seth Rollins and Finn Balor going head-to-head for the WWE Universal Championship.

Balor earned his chance against Rollins after winning a Fatal 4 Way on RAW, then a subsequent singles bout with Roman Reigns in the main event. Reigns had also won a Fatal 4 Way earlier in the night. Rollins was put into the title match by Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley because he was their #1 draft pick.

As was previously reported, the Universal Title will be the new major title for the RAW brand now that WWE Champion Dean Ambrose is on SmackDown.

As of right now, the only other match confirmed for SummerSlam is Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton.
