– As noted, there was no real panic within WWE when then-WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins went down with an injury in Dublin, Ireland earlier this month. WWE officials knew the direction they wanted to go, with Roman Reigns as champion going into 2016, and they were already close to getting the title on Reigns with his singles match against Rollins at Survivor Series.
Despite how Rollins has been pushed, the feeling within WWE was that it was not like losing a top star such as Steve Austin or The Rock for a lengthy amount of time. While WWE officials do realize that Rollins is a big part of the machine, one source believed that no one would even blink an eye over Rollins if John Cena and Randy Orton were still around, according to PWInsider. That was not to take away from Rollins, as WWE officials do consider him a key player and will likely push him when he’s able to return.
It was also noted that the Rollins injury did not cause a shake-up in major WrestleMania 32 plans as officials have 3 or 4 main event matches set, indicating that they had no WrestleMania main event plans for Rollins even before he got hurt.
