Christian’s Wrestling Career In WWE Is Officially Over

Christian

Christian’s historic wrestling career has officially come to a close in WWE, as the company quietly moved his WWE.com profile to the Alumni section and noted the following in the last paragraph of his bio:

His reign ended on Raw 1,000, and Christian was out of action for nearly a year with a shoulder injury. He returned in June 2013, once again poised to win the World Heavyweight Championship. Although he never regain the title, he solidified his legacy and left active compeition still at the top of his game.

Jerry “The King” Lawler stated on an episode of Raw in 2014 that Christian was “retired,” a claim which the two-time World Heavyweight later disputed. However, on the September 7, 2015, episode of the Stone Cold Podcast on the WWE Network, he discussed his wrestling career in the past tense and spoke of his adjustment to a “normal” post-wrestling life

Christian last wrestled on the March 24, 2014 episode of Raw. He won a fatal four way match including Alberto Del Rio, Dolph Ziggler and Sheamus to challenge Big E for the Intercontinental Championship, which did not come to fruition because he suffered a mild concussion during the contest.
