Video: Paul Heyman Reveals Why He Was Paired with Cesaro

– Above is a fan video from the live podcast that Paul Heyman and Corey Graves did with Sam Roberts in New York City this week. Heyman talks about his short run with Cesaro and says it was basically done as an “excuse” to keep Heyman on TV every week to remind everyone that Brock Lesnar ended The Undertaker’s Streak.

Heyman says they hoped some of the star power, credibility and spotlight would rub off on Cesaro but unfortunately, the angle kept Cesaro in a supporting role for a “guy cutting a promo.” Heyman says the run did make Vince McMahon notice Cesaro, adding that he doesn’t know how much Vince noticed Cesaro before the night they were paired up. Heyman said the run was a curse on camera for Cesaro, but not behind-the-scenes.

Heyman goes on and credits Cesaro for doing his job in helping to make the Lesnar vs. Taker rematch at SummerSlam a big draw.
