One week after being fired from Monday Night Raw, Rhyno sort of clears the air about his future with WWE.
One week after Rhyno’s loss to longtime friend Heath Slater resulted in his firing, “The Man Beast” sent a video to WWE to address rumors on social media that he has retired from in-ring competition.
“I am not retiring, I had no plans on retiring,” Rhyno said.
“It apparently started after I had competed in a match with Heath Slater and the loser is fired from WWE, which Heath Slater won — a match that we were put in by Baron Corbin.”
Rhyno adds that he will continue fulfilling his contractual obligations with WWE, which includes live events in December and January.
“After that, I don’t know,” he
John Pollock of POSTWrestling.com reported last week that Rhyno is not leaving WWE as this retirement angle is part of an ongoing storyline.
“The angle from Monday’s episode of Raw involving Heath Slater and Rhyno is just that, Rhyno is not retiring or leaving the company as this will play into a story,” Pollock wrote.
Dave Meltzer also noted on F4WOnline.com that Rhyno’s retirement is just a storyline. There’s no word yet on what it’s supposed to lead to and if Rhyno will return to wrestle.
