The Raw overrun, a concept that started during the Monday Night War when WWE and WCW were jockeying for any type of rating advantage, is now history.
Starting this Monday, Raw will end at 11:00 p.m. sharp and that will continue going forward.
Fightful first reported the story on Wednesday and sources within WWE have confirmed that story as accurate to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.
This will cut anywhere from four to 15 minutes off Raw, meaning a tighter show and an earlier start time for the main event segment.
This should slightly alleviate the declining level of viewership in the third hour of Raw after episodes on October 1 and November 5 did the lowest third-hour numbers ever.
The overrun gives WWE additional screen time but also allows for flexibility when segments run too long. Since Raw airs live, this is often the case.
