Zack Ryder
In the long and storied history of professional wrestling, few grapplers have forced their way into the spotlight as
as effectively as Zack Ryder. Feeling overlooked by WWE management, the spike-haired WWE Superstar took to YouTube to vent
his frustrations and display his wildly charismatic side. In a matter of weeks, Ryder's Z! Long Island Story web
show caused an unforeseeable groundswell of support.
It wasn't long before "We Want Ryder" and "Ryder=Ratings" signs began to overwhelm arenas. WWE had no choice; thanks to
his powerful, grassroots efforts, Ryder was thrust into the spotlight. The self-proclaimed WWE Internet Champion was soon
sharing the same ring with the likes of John Cena and The Miz. He even had Hollywood heavyweight Hugh Jackman in his corner
for a match against Dolph Ziggler.
Members of WWE management weren't the only ones forced to take notice of Ryder's social media prowess. In 2011,
Sports Illustrated named @ZackRyder one of the most influential Twitter accounts in all of sports.
